“It’ll just be for a month, until your dad can find a well paying job.”

Those words are all it takes to turn Diana’s world upside down. How could her parents send her to a new school, separated from the only people she’s ever known, for a whole month? For any normal person, it might have been an adventure, but for a blind girl it’s a nightmare. A new place means invisible obstacles, new people to bully her, and new sounds to flood her brain. However, when she meets Grace, a deaf girl, things start to look up, until her new friend is assigned to a field trip. Now, she’ll have to make the biggest decision of her life. Run away, or lose the only friend she’s ever had. But secrets lie beneath the surface. What exactly is this ‘field trip’? What’s hiding under the academy? And is she really willing to lose everything to find out?

Abilities: Diana went blind a few months after she was born. Because of this, she isn’t hindered by light, which could be useful in low-light missions. Although she hasn’t honed her gift for spatial awareness yet, she has potential to be able to navigate without the use of a cane.
Character: Diana is a joyful, sly, and energetic girl who, despite her blindness, always tries to see the best in everything.

Character: Malaysia is relatively laid back, though she has bursts of energy. She’s outgoing and loves to talk to people.

Character: Peter is overly confident, creative, protective, and loves to lead a group. Whenever there’s a problem, he finds a way to fight it or fix it.

Fact file: Kyle lost his family in a storm on the ocean, and was adopted by Mrs. Sanders. If you were to ask him what the most exciting thing that happened to him was, he would say, “I guess it was when my mom took me on one of her trips and I met the dolphins she was working with.”

Character: Ocean is a shy girl who loves the ocean and everything in it, but is so terrified of it, that she tried to run away instead of going on a cruise ship. She also loves adventure and is mostly quiet. If there were one word to describe her, it would be passionate.
Fact file: Ocean Sierra Lee was born with only one leg. When she was two, she got a prosthetic to learn how to walk. When she turned five, she got a waterproof leg so she could learn how to swim. When she was seven, she joined a swim team and turned out to be the fastest swimmer. When she lost her mother, she got rid of all of her prosthetics and refused to get a new one. However, a year later, she gave in and got a normal prosthetic that wasn’t waterproof.

Abilities: athletics, coordination, observation. She’s one of the best agents at the Crystal, which may be because she was one of the first.
Character: Quin is an energetic and slightly impulsive girl who loves adventure, which might be because she’s a field agent at the Crystal. She also loves her parents, and maybe even more, she loves helping others. If there was one word to describe her, it would be helpful.
Fact file: Quin grew up her entire life in the Academy. When she was three months old, she posed as a baby during an undercover mission. When she was three, she learned how to climb onto a roof. When she was ten, she went on her first mission to stop a Rose agent from breaking into an orphanage. When she was twelve, she disarmed her first bomb.
